lab days are my favorite, there’s no urgency…it’s only numbers, easy mixing and tons of observations. my professor said my observations were “delightfully descriptive” in a thick British accent and I found myself flowing with ease in the calculations. who would have known I would remember things from nearly a decade ago!

I also made a new friend and I’m excited to have a study partner.

the blooms in my space currently and NYC before it wakes•

this is week two of classes, now that I have a better awareness of how much time I’ll need to cover material (not to even count study time) I have readjusted my attitude and my schedule.

see the thing is, I take academia with the same kinda of intensity as I do marathon training. I know it’s mind over matter but this semester is filled with so many unpredictable variables outside of myself that I get all in a tizzy.

but I have decided that I may not be able to control when someone gives birth or if I miss a clinical lab but I CAN control studying, pacing the material one week ahead and being disciplined for the next four months.

I can do this. I’m the girl who worked two jobs, while taking 16-18 credits in undergrad. I’m built for the long haul.

I’ve also added some nothing days spread out here and there so I don’t burn out.

wish me luck, many matcha lattes (b/c marathon training duh) and a good dose of optimism… I will need it.
